This patent from IBM teaches a noise reduction methodology for MEMS sensor arrays. Claim 1 reads:

1. A method of reducing noise in a MEMs-based system, comprising:

providing a sensor array including at least two sensors; and

ensemble averaging outputs of said sensor array, wherein said ensemble averaging reduces an effective sensor noise to (σ/sqrt(N)), where N is a number of sensors of said at least two sensors.
