This patent from Honda Motors teaches a large scale synthesis method for interconnected webs of single walled carbon nanotubes. Claim 1 reads:

1. A method for producing interconnected single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWNTs), the method comprising:

placing a sample of SWNTs in a microwave cavity wherein the electric field is maximum; and

exposing the sample to microwave field at a maximum temperature between about 1000° C. and about 1400° C. to produce the interconnected single-walled carbon nanotubes.
