In order to construct flexible display devices from plastic materials lower temperature manufacturing processes are necessary. This patent from Samsung Mobile Display teaches a method of using semiconductor nanoparticles to form thin film transistors for flexible displays. Claim 1 reads:
1. A method of manufacturing a thin film transistor, comprising:
partitioning a plurality of nanoparticle lines;
forming nanolayers on the nanoparticle lines, each nanoparticle line comprising a nanoparticle; and
forming an active layer by patterning the nanolayers.
