http://www.freepatentsonline.com/7186020.pdf
A goal of thermal interface materials is to be formed of small thicknesses and/or low resistivities. This patent from the University of Washington proposes a carbon nanotube/silicone grease/chloroform composition with a fraction of the thermal impedance of conventional thermal interface material. Claim 1 reads:
1. An apparatus, comprising: a thermal interface material (TIM) having: a matrix including silicone thermal grease, the matrix further including chloroform; and a filler disposed in the matrix, the filler comprising carbon nanotubes.
