This patent has priority going back to 1999 and includes some basic claims to processes of Dip Pen Nanolithography® pioneered by the company NanoInk. Claim 1 reads:
1. A method of nanolithography comprising:
providing a substrate;
providing a scanning probe microscope tip;
coating the tip with a patterning compound; and
contacting the coated tip with the substrate so that the compound is applied to the substrate so as to produce a desired pattern,
wherein a second compound is applied to the pattern.
