US Patent 7955562 - Nanowire crossbar chemical sensor
http://www.freepatentsonline.com/7955562.html
Nanowire crossbar electronic architectures have been proposed for a variety of high density memory arrays, logic structures, and analog processors. This patent from Samsung includes some basic claims in which a nanowire crossbar architecture is used to achieve a high sensitivity chemical sensor. Claim 1 reads:
1. A chemical sensor comprising:
a first electrode on a substrate;
a sensing member covering the first electrode on the substrate; and
a plurality of second electrodes on a surface of the sensing member exposing the surface of the sensing member, wherein the first electrode includes a plurality of nanowires.
