1. A composite combustion catalyst particle, comprising:
a) a metal core including a combustible metal;
b) a metal oxide coating at least partially surrounding the metal core; and
c) a catalyst coating at least partially surrounding the metal oxide coating, wherein the composite combustion catalyst particle has a diameter from about 10 nm to about 500 nm.
