US Patent 7588748 - Carbon nanofiber composite having enhanced thermal and electrical conductivity
http://www.freepatentsonline.com/7588748.html
This patent from Showa Denko teaches a method of fabricating carbon nanofiber which provides the enhanced electrical and thermal transport properties of earlier nanofiber composites but with less nanofiber material being required. Claim 1 reads:
1. A vapor grown carbon fiber having a mean fiber diameter of 80 to 500 nm and an aspect ratio of 100 to 200, wherein filaments of the carbon fiber having a fiber diameter within ±20% of the mean fiber diameter account for 65% (on a number basis) or more of all the filaments of the carbon fiber.
