US Patent 7314764 - Semiconductor nanocrystal with affinity molecule

This patent is based on a series of continuations from the University of California with priority going back to 1997 and presents basic claims to quantum dots in biolabels. Claim 1 reads:

1. An organo-luminescent semiconductor nanocrystal probe structure, comprising: (a) a semiconductor nanocrystal which emits light when excited; and an affinity molecule linked to the semiconductor nanocrystal.
