US Patent 8149170 - CNT variable frequency patch antenna

This patent is based on research conducted in the University of California system and teaches how carbon nanotubes can be used to construct a variable frequency steerable patch antenna. Claim 1 reads:

1. A variable frequency patch antenna comprising

a patch formed from a dense network of semiconducting carbon nanotubes on a first layer; and

a partitioned backgate positioned below the first layer.
