This patent from Samsung includes some broad claims to an electrical energy generator based on piezoelectric nanowires which may be useful to remote powering of MEMS devices. Claim 1 reads:

1. An energy converting apparatus comprising:

first and second electrodes spaced apart from each other; and

a first nanowire formed on the first electrode, which is composed of a piezoelectric material, the first nanowire being configured to resonate in response to an electromagnetic wave at a first frequency so as to contact the second electrode.
