This patent from PPG Industries Ohio teaches a new type of nanopowder having potential applications as pigments, catalysts, or phosphors. Claim 1 reads:

1. A nanomaterial composition of matter comprising

(a) non-stoichiometric nanoparticles of tungsten oxide, and

(b) at least one metal other than tungsten, wherein the composition comprises a tungsten bronze.
