Hon Hai Precision (Foxconn) is probably the dominant source of nanotechnology patents from China. This patent focuses on a light filament formed from carbon nanotube yarn. The last time a patent issued this broadly for a carbon fiber light filament was probably the time of Edison (see US Patent 223,898). Claim 1 reads:

1. A light filament comprising a carbon nanotube yarn, the carbon nanotube yarn being configured for emitting light by application of an electric current to said carbon nanotubes.
