http://www.freepatentsonline.com/7295419.html
Due to their high surface-to-volume ratio nanomaterials have been used in forming a variety of capacitor structures which depend on large surface area to achieve high capacitances. This patent goes to Nanosys for an embodiment of a capacitor including inorganic nanofibers in a dielectric matrix. Claim 1 reads:
1. A capacitor comprising first and second opposing electrodes and a dielectric layer disposed between the first and second electrodes, wherein the dielectric layer comprises a plurality of inorganic nanofibers and a dielectric which covers substantially all members of the plurality of nanofibers.
