This patent from Hewlett-Packard teaches using fused nanowires to connect two closely spaced metal conductors to construct a Wheatstone Bridge circuit, a thermocouple, or other circuitry. Claim 1 reads:

1. A circuit, comprising: first and second close proximity metal conductors; and a nanowire filament fused between the close proximity conductors, the nanowire filament comprising a fusion of metal from the first close proximity conductor and metal from the second close proximity conductor.
