Boron carbide ceramics have high thermal resistance and corrosion resistance but suffer from brittleness. This patent teaches a way to incorporate carbon nanofibers into BC ceramics to remedy this problem. Claim 1 reads:

1. A material comprising a boron carbide ceramic and nearly homogenously dispersed carbon nanofibers throughout the boron carbide ceramic.
