US Patent 7491699 - Aromatic homodipeptide nanostructure

In addition to carbon-based nanotubes there are other types of nanotube structures being developed such as peptide nanotubes which may have some unique advantages to nanobioelectronics. This patent from Ramot At Tel Aviv University seems somewhat fundamental to a variety of peptide nanotubes. Claim 1 reads:

1. A discrete tubular, discrete spherical or discrete planar nanostructure composed of a plurality of aromatic homodipeptides.
